I was carrying two babies and measured at 40 weeks when I was 28 weeks pregnant... THIS is my biggest annoyance!

People who come up to me and say "Oh, I wish I had twins...get it all done at once!" Umm...what? I love having twins now, but it is HARD work (to say the least!). It was terrible at first. People act like it's a novelty.

People who ask, "which is better?" What does that even mean?

The old: "were they natural" or "do they run in your family" I then tell them everything about how they were conceived and that identical means completely random.

Overall though, I can't complain. People are so nice to me about having twins and wanting to see them!

Bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13036900060977026354noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3485428342105503179.post-34123406389889690222010-06-04T07:20:00.000-07:002010-06-04T07:28:01.067-07:002nd Birthday I thought I was going to be ready for this...ready for my girls to turn two and become little girls. I was ready to officially say good bye to the baby stage. Or so I thought.

I am SO not ready. I realized that last night after having a fun day of playing and running around. I love where my babies are right now and I really don't want them to get bigger. I know..I am being a selfish. I can't help it though.

I remember last year being so excited for the girls to turn one. It marked Rob and I making it. We had made it through the TTTS surgery, the NICU, the up all nights with screaming babies (to say our first 6 months were awful is an understatement). We made it in one piece and were a stronger couple because of it.

This year we faced numerous challenges and frustrations, but our babies were starting to become individuals. Amazing personalities and love for each other. At times, I didn't know if we would all make it out alive, but we did. And we are better for it.

Now, the girls love to play with each other and be independent....but they LOVE their Mommy. And you know what, I love that they Love me so much and want me to hold them and love on them. I am afraid with the end of their baby stage, this cuddly stage will also end.

I may be a little dramatic here, but I love the stage my girls are at right now. I just want to freeze them and keep them here.

I love you Alexandra and I love you Keegan.

Thank you for giving your daddy and me the best two years of our life. They are into everything and not been sleeping like we had been before the time change. I am sure this will all work out soon, but at the beginning of the week...I thought I was going to pull my hair out.

The bottom of the barrel was when Keegan was scooting down the stairs on Tuesday. When she got close to the bottom, she started saying "poop, poop, poop." I didn't think it was a big deal, I would change her when she got down. Oh boy, was I wrong! She had pooped out of her diaper, down her close and onto the carpeted steps! I about called Rob to come home =)

It then became a battle to get her cleaned up, the stairs cleaned up and the girls out of the poo.

That day ended with crying...by me and by the girls!

Wednesday was new day though! The girls played outside and loved it! I think we are going to need a fence to keep the girls from sprinting all over the place!

The best part of the day was after breakfast. They ran out of the kitchen while I picked up. I then heard it...Nothing...So, I immediately thought the worst. I am a total slacker!

The girls are back to sleeping better and we have had a rough go around with sickness. A few ear infections and a lot of colds. I am hoping we are over it for a least a little while.

We took the girls down to Fort Lauderdale to visit with my sister, brother-in-law, my nephew and niece. It was awesome. The girls did really well with all of the flights (total of 4!)...man, those seats seem a lot smaller when you put an adult and a toddler in them! I will attach some pictures soon, I promise(ish) =) Don't want to get held to something...

Alex and Keegan continue to amaze me. Lately, they have been all about each other. It's sissy this, sissy that. They are constantly looking for each other and crying when they can't see each other. It's pretty darn cute, but difficult at naptime and night time. They are talking like crazy, though we don't know what they are saying most of the time. They really love their Daddy and ask for him every morning when they wake up.

They definitely know how to push my buttons and know exactly when they are doing it. The girls are not sleeping.

They have always been horrible sleepers, but we had finally hit a stride and had the girls sleeping through the night for a good few months (maybe more..right now I feel like they have never slept through the night).

Then Christmas hit. The girls have never started sleeping well since then. Now, we have teeth coming in and Alex is just not good with discomfort. She has been up every hour all weekend. I don't know what to do.

We have tired the CIO, but she just hasn't taken to it. And, I feel bad doing it when she has a toothache, runny nose and sickness. Chriminy. This totally blows.Bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13036900060977026354noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3485428342105503179.post-64016270944032781782010-01-22T08:53:00.000-08:002010-01-22T09:16:32.838-08:00Growing UpLife has been such a whirlwind lately. My girls are growing up so fast and I feel like I want to freeze time some days. My days are spent chasing these beautiful girls around.

Some days I can be beyond frustrated, but then I look at them and realize how blessed my family is. We have these spunky, playful spazzes...Which I mean in the sweetest possible way!

Alex is very determined and vocal about her needs. She also loves to steal her sister's toys, but can't tolerate it when her sister does the same. She is strong willed and beautiful.

Keegan is a total individual. She likes to play by herself, but is also starting to play with Alex more. She is also a total tickle bug. I love hearing her little laugh when I tickle her! She is also more of a cuddlebug. Her little closed mouth smile melts my heart everyday.

Here are some of our most recent pictures!

My little angels are full of energy. Dr. Steve has very pleased with their progress and was also amazed at how much the girls grew since last year. That made my day too!

I have some funny video on my phone of the girls messing with all the buttons in the doctor's office...I let them pretty much do whatever (within reason) in the doctor's office...they were restless and pooped! Now, I just need to figure out how to get it on here!Bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13036900060977026354noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3485428342105503179.post-68421573627099744672010-01-07T07:11:00.000-08:002010-01-07T07:12:46.581-08:00Crazy...Does it make me a little crazy if I made French Toast for breakfast this morning, but I wasn't satisfied with the outcome...So, I am remaking some to try another recipe out?

I swear, I am not anal.Bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13036900060977026354noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3485428342105503179.post-13628125416164693722010-01-04T18:42:00.000-08:002010-01-04T18:49:42.794-08:00Our new favorite thing...Here are so new pictures of the girls. Don't you worry...my ankle is NOT broken (found this out after our trip to the ER). Then the diarrhea in our house started with my little Keegan and then Alex. Have no fear, everyone is feeling better!

A few neat things that have happened:

Alex was playing with her little people and all the sudden said "she go night-night". She had just put the baby in her crib. WHAT! Growing up so fast!

Keegan is saying sister

Our night routine is soon going to have to change. They can now crawl out of their jumperoo and exersaucers...

Not so neat...It is freezing. I mean, freezing out. I hate the winter and not being able to go out and about. We are going to get our second H1N1 shot tomorrow...good times...
Bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13036900060977026354noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3485428342105503179.post-40309825294760549162009-12-28T14:58:00.001-08:002009-12-28T15:02:15.001-08:00WalmartI love going to Walmart...Oh wait, no I don't. Unless it's empty and people aren't staring at me with two kids in my cart usually spazing out.

Yesterday was quite funny though. I went there to try to find the girls some boots and actually found some! So I grabbed two and a couple of other items and hit the checkout line. As the cashier was checking things, she didn't peek up to say hello or anything. The only thing that came out of her mouth was "you know you have two pairs of shoes...do you really want two pairs of the same shoe?"

Now it wouldn't have been so funny, except for the fact that Alex and Keegan were yapping back and forth at each other and grunting to get their cookies back.

Got to love the Walmart...Bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13036900060977026354noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3485428342105503179.post-31456357145349373512009-12-28T14:53:00.000-08:002009-12-28T14:57:55.380-08:00What a day...I was going to write a little post about my funny trip to Walmart..which I guess I will probably still do...but, my day really got thrown off today....

I decided it was time to hit the gym. I haven't been in probably 2 weeks. I was pretty excited (I didn't even come up with an excuse not to go). I was excited to have a really good bodystep instructor. But, then something happened. I totally bit it. Not just a little bite..A huge one.
My ankle was busted. Thankfully, I live in a great little town and about 5 people helped me out. I mean, so nice.

I think it's just a sprained ankle, but I can't put any weight on it. I have been sitting on the couch all day, bored out of my mind. Sort of reminds me of being on bedrest. Thank goodness Rob is off this week. There would have been no way I would have been able to get the girls in the car, out of the car or to bed.Bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13036900060977026354noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3485428342105503179.post-388364026951157222009-12-27T19:06:00.001-08:002009-12-27T19:14:24.939-08:00It's Christmas Time...Man, I feel like I haven't posted in forever. It's been such a busy time and honestly, I have been too tired to blog...Lame excuse, but jeesh...these girls have been pills the past couple of days. Not sure what is going on, I am hoping it's some teething and having their schedule thrown off with all the holiday festivities.

We spent Christmas with my family and it was a ton of fun. The girls love playing with their cousins and creating chaos at Nana and Papa. The girls were completely spoiled by Nana and Papa, but weren't totally into the presents. In fact, they kept trying to run out of the room!

We are trying to get back on schedule, but the girls have not been interested in any sort of sleeping...especially during the day. I am thinking it is time to try and go to one nap a day, but I am a little nervous about that. We are struggling with going down in the morning lately, so I am thinking that is a sign....

We shall see...Here are some cute pictures from the past couple of days!

Kisses between sisters!
Keegan and Mommy with her new doll...that cries unless their is a binky or bottle in her mouth..this should be a really fun toy for mommy =)

The chaos and my cutie nephew John

Alex and her big girl booster seat..isn't it cute? As most of you know, Alex and Keegan are TTTS Survivors. My hope is that every expectant mother of twins is aware of this condition and learns what warning signs to look for to catch any issues on time. Ultrasounds are so important, so please...if you feel like you are at risk, insist on ultrasounds as often as possible.

Bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13036900060977026354noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3485428342105503179.post-85868788087134619592009-12-06T18:33:00.000-08:002009-12-06T18:38:31.425-08:00Ultrasound memories...Is it weird that I just made a photo album of ultrasound pictures from my pregnancy with the girls. I know, it took me over 18 months to do something with these pictures. But, that isn't the weird thing. I had over 150 pictures to pick from. 150! I mean, that can't be normal, right?

And how are you supposed to pick which ones to use..they all are so special to me.

So, I decided to use almost all of them. One week got cut out, because I placed them in the wrong chronological order. But, most others were used. Looking at the photos brought back so many memories and emotions. The first pictures, the faces of the 3d images (and how much they look like those pictures!) and the last set that were taken.

I just feel so lucky to have such great documentation of the girls before they were even born...

And now they can't say I never made them a baby book...Bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13036900060977026354noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3485428342105503179.post-45598589392373715572009-12-05T19:24:00.000-08:002009-12-05T19:28:52.948-08:00Winter is here...Winter is here..sadly...but I was able to pick up a couple of cute hats for the girls and thought I would share some of the pictures I was able to get!

Keegan was all smiles with her new hat

Why are someone's fingers always up their nose?

Alex always walks toward the camera when I am trying to take a pic. We travelled up to my father-in-law's home and the girls did awesome. They slept through the night 4 out of 5 nights! This is a major breakthrough for us. Typically, the girls would not sleep anywhere besides their cribs. We did learn several things during this past trip, which I thought I should share
1) Portable DVD players with dual monitors are AMAZING. I always thought that I would
never let my kids watch tv...but the last time I went up to wisconsin, I vowed to never
return. That was how bad it was this past summer. This time, we borrowed a dvd player and
it totally kept them occupied after their car naps!
2) Alex now pretends to be hurt after seeing her sister fall and get hurt. She literally saw
Keegan fall down one stair and then get swooped up by me. She then slowly crawled down the
stairs and then laid flat out and waited for someone to comfort her. The bottom lip even
started to come out!
3) Their vocabulary is really taking off. Words are starting to form and the words they can't
say, they understand what they mean.
4) I already knew this one, but....my girls are amazing. They have just grown up so much in the past year and I am so proud of them.

I can't wait to see what they will do next, but I also don't want them to grow up anymore. I want to freeze time...Bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13036900060977026354noreply@blogger.com0
